2022 Ministry Report

Battlefield Ministries, Inc. exists to expose the enemy and equip the Body of Christ to thrive for the Lord’s name and His renown through Counseling Services, Retreats, International Events, and Trips to Enrich. In 2022, with a total budget of $800,000, we facilitated over 5,500 counseling sessions, participated in multiple Intensive efforts, and led retreats both Stateside and internationally. We estimate the direct impact of this ministry to be over 2,000 souls. The indirect impact of what we do, only the Lord knows.

Counseling Office Report

Our staff consists of 17 therapists/coaches, one full-time, and three part-time office staff. This year Morgan Green returned to us after serving in Berry College’s counseling department. Kevin Fitzsimmons joined our counseling team in the Rome office in January 2022. Kevin’s arrival filled a much-needed role, working with adolescent males, young men, and young couples.

In recent years, we more than doubled our office space in Rome and this year, moved locations in Cartersville to offer additional office space so more of our team can work simultaneously in a warm, hospitable environment. Aided by support funds, we furnished these new counseling spaces.

In the coming year, we will continue serving the counseling community as a provider of Continuing Education credits. This gives our counselors opportunities both to present and to glean from the strengths of each other as clinicians.

International Report

It was our great pleasure to return to international travel in the last year. Two of our doctorate level therapists led the way, going to Erbil, Iraq to lead a team of missionaries in intensive team counseling. In March, we sent five of our team to Poland to serve an organization ministering in the war-torn areas of Europe. Our team served in France in October: two marriage enrichment events provided opportunities for growth and connectedness. We also facilitated a ladies’ retreat focused on finding peace in the midst of life’s storms. We continue to offer on-going care to missionaries via telehealth counseling. International work with missionaries in need of counseling or marriage retreats is funded by support contributions.

In February 2023, Nathan and Jane are part of a team we are sending to minister to two different groups serving in Kenya, Africa. The trip will include leading a marriage event, facilitating a group to foster team health, and providing individual counseling as needed. The company we served in Poland in 2022 has invited us back to serve a different group in Egypt in November 2023. We will lead both marriage and singles events then stay for their annual general meeting to lead break-out sessions.

Trips to Enrich

2022 marked a significant year for raising up more leadership for Trips to Enrich from a growing fellowship of those who have been impacted by Battlefield through the years. There were quarterly meetings and adventures that included fly-fishing, camping, axe throwing, kayaking, and hiking. Going into 2023, we have more than a half-dozen families eager to help facilitate daylong and overnight efforts that are distinctly Christian, intentionally Relational, and decidedly Adventurous for even more participants. Happy New Year indeed!

Our Ministry is Meeting a Financial Need

Contributions to Battlefield Ministries help supplement our Sliding Fee Scale used to assist clients. Our heart is that money would not be the reason someone does not receive help. Support funds enable us to better serve our clients and team. We want all parties to thrive so the impact on hearts is greater.

Did You Know?

Battlefield’s counseling office operates on a sliding scale where the counselor gets paid at a rate based on the client’s ability to pay. With 92% of clients paying at the bottom of the scale, most of our counselors must have another source of income to provide their services here. It is our desire to continue to offer resources to those who cannot afford them while honoring our licensed professionals by paying them the fair-market rate. We are not yet able to meet this goal.

Praise the Lord! Through donor support, we were able to give our counselors a small pay-rate raise this year. We have a dream and a hope that contributions would fill the gap between what the client can pay and what is needed to better compensate our counselors. We remain thankful for those who faithfully contribute to help meet this financial need.

God continues to show up and sustain our ministry in countless ways. We get the opportunity to help make a way in the wilderness in some of the most difficult seasons in people’s lives. It is a joy that the community of Christ is praying for us, encouraging us, and partnering with us financially. We receive all these blessings as love notes from God.

Thank you for partnering with us!
