Grace and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ to you!  I’m hoping this letter finds you and your family healthy, whole and thriving.  Year 2020 has turned out to be a year of unprecedented change and transition for all of us, hasn’t it?  We are now six months into our year and none of us could have guessed we would have experienced the changes in our world that we have witnessed thus far.

My family has experienced some of our own personal changes as my husband has recently accepted a new job in a new state.  As many of you know, we have three children in high school (as of this upcoming school year) and considering relocating at this stage in our family life has been difficult.  We have spent time praying and talking together as a family in order to come to our decision.  We will be moving to a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA!  My husband, Mark, grew up in rural PA and I was raised in TX, so GA has been a wonderful blessing of a “happy medium” as we are quite literally equal distance from our families!  We have considered moving closer to both our parents and siblings, but at this time we are so thankful to have an opportunity to be closer to my in-laws and for our children to be closer to their beloved Grandma Julie and Pappy.  Because my husband is an administrator in Christian education, working in high school, this means a quick move as we will need to arrive before school begins in August.

It has been a privilege and an honor to serve at Battlefield Ministries for the past five years.  In fact, I have been so blessed and thankful for my time here that I have prayed for the Lord NOT to move us away!  Much of this blessing has been due to you!  You have shared your stories and your lives with such tenderness and vulnerability in our times together in the counseling office.  You and your children have set an example of what courage and perseverance and hope look like.  Thank you for ministering to ME!  I know the Lord has blessings ahead as you continue to walk this journey of imperfect progress with Him.

The second part of the gift of working at Battlefield has been my teammates.  I have never worked with a finer group of women and men who love the Lord and love the body of Christ.  I have full confidence in each of them and their abilities and gifts to carry on the work we have experienced together.  If you wish to continue your counseling journey at this time or in the future, please contact the Battlefield Office and you will be matched with the best counselor fit for you.

As I am considering what nugget of wisdom I would like to leave each of you with, Romans 5:1-5 is so fitting:

“Therefore since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance character; and character, hope.  And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.”

When the Lord brings you to mind-which He is faithful to do-I will pause to lift each of you up in prayer.
