Kevin Fitzsimmons

Kevin graduated from Berry College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and from the University of West Georgia in 2021 with a Master of Education in Professional Counseling. Kevin never intended to go into the counseling field but after being a client himself, his opinion was swayed. His experience with his counselors forever changed the direction of his life; Kevin was able to experience “more healing than I thought possible.” A little over a year into being a client, Kevin felt a divine interruption and chose to begin pursuing a counseling degree.

In the counseling room, Kevin often focuses on slowing down, naming emotions, and creating a safe space for clients to explore feeling emotions they are avoiding. Kevin believes that we (including himself) spend far too much energy trying to live up to an image of ourselves that we miss what God has for us in so many moments. He enjoys getting to know his clients and considers it a great honor to listen to each person’s story that he gets to work with. Kevin is gifted at working with teenage boys and has been doing so for over a decade. He has a heart for connecting with men of all ages and encouraging them to be curious about their heart.

Kevin and his wife met while Young Life leaders at Rome High School and have enjoyed becoming better and better friends each year. They got married at Frost Chapel in 2015 and have two young children. They Kevin enjoys being outside, reading books (currently, anything Ender related), being active, and spending time with friends and family
