Nathan & Jane Phillips

Founders

Nathan and his wife Jane counsel together and also lead marriage retreats nationally and internationally. Nathan and Jane were married in 1982 and have two sons. They consistently accept the invitation to meet people in their darkest valleys and walk with them through that difficult place to help them find healing on the other side. 

Samantha Nash

Executive Assistant to the CEO

A graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, “Sam” received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree in 1996. She worked in a variety of settings that lead her to join the Battlefield Team in the Spring of 2007. Her husband, Adam, has also been actively involved with Battlefield over the years. 

Adam Nash

Life Coach

Adam Nash, Christian Life Coach, has been serving Battlefield Ministries for many years. He and his wife, Samantha, benefited from the solid, biblical counsel they received in Pre-marital counseling with Battlefield nearly 20 years ago. In recent years, Adam and Samantha have partnered with WinShape Marriage and Battlefield to serve marriages around the globe. 

Kevin Fitzsimmons

Counselor

Kevin graduated from Berry College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and from the University of West Georgia in 2021 with a Master of Education in Professional Counseling. Kevin has a heart for connecting with men of all ages and encouraging them to be curious about their heart.

Morgan Green

Counselor

Morgan is a native of Rome. She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Shorter University and a Master of Arts in professional counseling from Liberty University. Morgan is happy she can now provide care to her hometown community as a counselor.

Hannah Blanton

Counselor

Hannah grew up in Rome and is thankful for the opportunity to be back, serving as a counselor in the town she loves so dearly. In her years away, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Samford University, Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Jon Sullivan, PhD

Counselor

Dr. Jon holds a Ph.D. in Human Services: Disaster, Crisis, & Intervention from Walden University, a Master of Arts Degree in Human Services: Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ministry from Andersonville College. Jon is a nationally recognized Human Services Board Certified Practitioner. Jon is an ordained minister and practices under that credentialing.

Sarah Phillips

Counselor/Experiential Guide

Sarah comes to us with an extensive background in working in the great outdoors as a camp counselor, guide, and experiential learning facilitator. Her professional experience has taken her all over the United States and to five different continents, where she has worked with families, couples, and individuals of diverse ages and nationalities.

Moriah Pender, LPC

Counselor

Moriah completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Lee University before attending Richmont Graduate University where she earned her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She and her husband moved to Rome in the summer of 2018 to serve as youth pastors in the local area.

Ali Couch, LPC

Counselor

Answering God’s call to serve the team and nurture our clients, Ali Couch, joined the Battlefield team in December 2013 as a volunteer. She completed her Masters in Professional Counseling through Liberty University in December 2015. 

Chris & Angie Wheelus, PhD

Counselors

Chris and Angie Wheelus have been married for over 28 years and enjoy their ever growing family of 4 children, son in law, daughter in law, and 4 grandchildren. During 10 years they have lived in 7 countries. And they know enough of several languages that would make them good competitors on the Amazing Race. 

Tim Carroll, LPC

Counselor

Tim Carroll comes to Battlefield Ministries with over 25 years of pastoral care experience working with individuals, couples, families and groups. With a focus on marriage, couples and family counseling, he has a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University and is currently pursuing licensure as both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. 

Heather Medley, LPC

Counselor

Heather Medley joined Battlefield Ministries in 2012. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Coach. Heather received her Bachelor of Arts from Berry College and her Master of Arts in Counseling from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. 

Caroline Ferrari, LPC

Counselor

Caroline is a Rome native. She gained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina while playing Collegiate tennis for five years. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Caroline spent the next two years in the University of Georgia’s Clinical and Mental Health Professional Counseling program.

Jeremy Marshall

Counselor

Jeremy received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Bible from CIU (Columbia International University) in Columbia, South Carolina; his MAR in Christian Leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia; and is completing his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University.
